Integra is a small-business international development firm, specializing in the implementation of demand-driven development analytics, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), private sector engagement, and capacity building projects. Our technical expertise is broad, encompassing ICT, agriculture and food security, economic growth, energy, climate resilience, environment and natural resources, and gender and social inclusion. We have provided analytical and MEL services to donor-funded projects for over ten years, working across more than 50 different countries, impacting millions of stakeholders, and leveraging over $1.2 billion in public and private investment for development reforms.
Position Description:
The Project Associate position is designed for a well-organized and highly motivated individual to support and work under a number of USAID and MCC contracts awarded to Integra. Most notably, USAID awarded Integra the Learning, Evaluation, and Analysis Project III (LEAP III) and the Asia Emerging Opportunities (AEO) projects in May and August 2018, respectively. LEAP III is a five-year, $19.6 million project supporting USAID Missions worldwide by providing various economic analyses, monitoring and evaluation, and project-design support services. AEO, while similar in structure, is $8 million and focused on supporting Missions in Asia. In four years, these two contracts have seen over 75 distinct activities over 30 countries with work focused on private sector engagement; policy and enabling environment reform; and monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
We are seeking a Project Associate to work across these activities and more. This position provides the opportunity to work across various sectors and in countries around the globe. There will also be opportunities for short-term travel once international travel resumes pending COVID restrictions.
Both projects are managed out of Integra’s home office in Washington D.C. and are seeking an Associate to work across both projects, alongside existing Integra operations and technical staff. This position provides the opportunity to work across a variety of sectors and in countries around the globe. There may also be opportunities for short-term travel.
Responsibilities
- Project Operations. Assist in the overall management and backstopping of the projects, including planning, organizing, coordination, program execution and monitoring. Responsibilities will include project reporting, budget tracking and analysis, reviewing consultant timesheets and expense reports, assisting with project recruitment, onboarding and contracting consultants, conducting project launch and close out activities, ensuring contractual compliance, and providing administrative support as required.
- Research and Data Analysis. Provide research assistance and data analysis to support project work assignments. This can include: Developing training materials; checking, coding, and cleaning data sets; analysing large and small data sets; preparing tables and figures for communication of research results; liaising with counterparts overseas; conducting and organizing literature reviews and other secondary data searches; contributing to the preparation of professional papers, research reports, presentations, articles, and proposals.
- Provide Administrative, Logistical, and Technical Support on Work Assignments. Manage consultants’ monthly timesheets and expense reports, coordinate travel approvals, logistics, and details for in-country work assignments. Support in-country data collection and stakeholder interviews. Provide support writing and formatting project reports.
- Business Development. Support the development of project proposals and technical reports, including past performance write ups, background research, pricing information, and layout assistance. Assist in the development of various business development management systems. Coordinate partners and assist in the preparation of teaming agreements as necessary.
- Communications. Assist in the development of communications materials for the firm, including authoring content for Integra’s website.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in related field (business, economics, international relations, etc.).
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in international development or with a U.S. Government Agency.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, communications, writing, research, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, prioritize and multitask under tight deadlines.
- Excellent command of English, foreign language skills a plus.
- Desire to learn and implement best practices in international development.
- Cultural understanding and overseas experience are highly preferred.
- U.S. citizenship or work permit required.
