The Resilience in the Sahel Enhanced (RISE) Initiative is a multi-sector program aimed at increasing the resilience of vulnerable Sahel Region households facing climatic, conflict-induced, environmental, and economic shocks that adversely affect their livelihoods. The Center for Economics and Market Development asked Integra to complete a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) of the Yalwa and Yidgiri activities under RISE II. The CBA models The RISE II initiative specifically aims to strengthen food security and economic resilience among households vulnerable to climate-related and other types of shocks in Burkina Faso and Niger from 2020–2025. The CBA aimed to evaluate the economic feasibility of RISE II interventions, looking specifically at design changes concerning integrating gender and environmental impacts. Integra also developed training materials for implementing partners using the CBA models in operational decisions and reporting.
