Egypt Tourism Pre-Feasibility Study

Under LEAP III, the Integra team provide USAID’s Middle East Bureau and USAID/Egypt with a pre-feasibility study of USAID’s proposed cultural tourism Activity in Islamic Cairo, an area with hundreds of mosques, tombs, fortifications, and the Citadel. The study included a financial costbenefit analysis (CBA) to determine whether the Activity is likely to yield positive net financial benefits, and how economic and financial benefits and costs are likely to be distributed across stakeholders such as residents, landowners, business owners, and employees. Ultimately, the study provided USAID with insights into both the financial viability of the proposed Activity while identifying other factors that may impact project implementation.
